Why my antivirus X reports SIW as Y?
#1

We can't control how antivirus vendors classify SIW or how their detection engines behave.

When an antivirus product incorrectly flags SIW as a threat, we submit a false-positive request to the vendor and ask them to review and remove the detection. Some vendors respond quickly and remove the false positive, while others may not take action.

Please check our FAQ for instructions on adding SIW to Microsoft Defender's exclusion list:

Please add the following trusted locations to your antivirus exclusion list:
Please add the SIW executable or installation folder to your antivirus exclusion list:
  • The SIW executable file (for example, siw64.exe)
  • The SIW installation folder (for example, C:\Program Files\SIW Home
