Windows Default Key vs Product Key
#1

Running SIW on a Server 2008R2 Machine, I get back a few different keys.

-Windows NT Current Version Default Product Key
-Partial key
-Windows Product key (matches last 5 of Partial Key)
-Windows Server 2008 R2 (same as Windows Product Key)

I'd imagine the last 2 are correct, as they match the Partial key. Whats up with the Default Product Key?

Running SIW on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise machine results in only the partial key being show. Is this due to extra security on the Enterprise Licenses?

Thanks,

A default product key is one that is hard coded into the OS that allows for temporary activation while you are evaluating Windows. This key provides time limited functionality.
