Wrong/Incomplete values in Memory check
#1

Hi everybody!

When I use SIW software to check my hardware I see in memory page unduer "values" the phrase: "wrong/incomplete values reported by BIOS". What does it mean? And what can I do with my BIOS to make it report correct values?

Thank you
(I'm sorry, English is not my language so I hope to le me be understood)

Please download SIW DEBUG Version from https://www.gtopala.com/download/siw-debug/ and check the Memory item.
The debug version creates a few c:\siw_debug*.* files.
Please send me the c:\siw_debug*.txt files.

Thank you! I've done but if I try to create a report file (txt) it says: "not implemented". I've checked memory and then i go to File>Create report file>txt, right?

SIW Debug shows that your BIOS reports:
  • Maximum Memory Supported: 4 GB
  • Maximum Memory Module Size: 4GB
  • Number of memory slots: 2
But 2 slots * 4GB each = 8GB (which is more than 4GB supported)
SIW reports this inconsistency.
You can try to update your BIOS.

Hi Gabriel

I had the same problem, I got an error stating the the bios was using the wrong values. Two exalamation points were next to "multi bit ecc and -8-

I went into the bios, to find that it appears to be configured properly, meaning, it shows 16 gigs of ram in four slots.

I ran the debug and got the following:

an exclamation next to memory timings.

This machine is a month old, so I would appreciate any help to get it fixed under warranty.

Love SIW.....!
