Hi Gabriel,

Today I upgraded the Intel 82801 ER SATA RAID Controller driver (iaStor.sys) from version 3.5.0.2568 to version 5.5.

And this seems to solve the issue. The 3.3 version of the iaStor.sys seems to be a bit buggy, which was triggered by SIW.

So now I can enjoy the great SIW program again.

Many thanks for pointing out the direction to solve this.

Really appreciate it.

Kind regards,

****

Yes, I think so.

In the hardware tab I do see an Intel 82801 ER SATA RAID Controller of which the driver is indeed iaStor.sys version 3.5.0.2568.

The system consists of two harddisks in a RAID configuration.

I have to get up early tomorrow, so I will go for a sleep now.

Tomorrow afternoon I will pick up the debug version and see if SIW will last for running more then 60 seconds.

Thx for trying to help me out.

Kind regards,

****

Are you using Intel Matrix Storage Manager (iaStor.sys) or Intel Rapid Storage Technology?

Thanks,

Gabriel Topala

Just had a BSD reporting the STOP error 0x00008086

Never had any BSOD over the past years.

Kind regards,

Subject: Recently download version of SIW Technician's Version crashes computer

Dear reader,

I just bought and downloaded the Technician's Version of SIW.

After receiving the licence it was added to the program.

The issue is that after about 60 seconds after starting the program, the Video card blanks completely and the system does not respond anymore.

Only a hard power-off reset of the computer will bring it back alive.

I have already tried downloading the program again and running it from different hard-disk locations.

Also disabled the anti-virus scanner (Kaspersky 2012) but without any luck.

The computer is still a Pentium-4 but performs as expected.

I also tried the 2010 version of SIW again which I used in the past, and that one is working properly, no crashes at all.

Can you help me out on this one ?

Kind regards,
